I just wanted to comment what a great blog you have. I don't actually live in Hawaii but in Washington in a very NOISY place near the state capitol. I love the design of your site and may try to produce something like it if I remain in the city which I may not. It's very stress inducing. I Iived in rural Alaska for 3 years and prior lived in a small coastal town here in Washington. When I returned to the lower 48 from AK I moved back to my now NOISIER than ever hometown of Olympia and its horrible how things have changed. All of the items you address like car stereos and mufflers especially are a detriment to the peace of anywhere you go in this world anymore AND my biggest problem is with key entry systems that HONK. Why do people think this is not annoying or rude or inconsiderate!!?? Especially at night! I live in a packed neighborhood of mid to upper priced homes and the relentless honking form unlocks and locks is pure insanity. I tried contacting the homeowner's association and they simply said they'd never any any kind of complaint ever about it. Unreal. I've been in contact a bit with Noise Free America and Sierra Club it seems an uphill battle but behind all these wonderful groups large and small to eliminate noise pollution. Anyhow great work! Mahalo and cheers.

What's to say? It's getting bad everywhere. But here in Hawai'i Nei the fight against noise goes on; and perhaps soon another site will spring up to rally the residents in Washington!!
